BIC Windsurf is pleased to confirm that the One Design 6.8 & 7.8 rig packages have been chosen by the Techno 293 OD Class as the rigs to be used for the 2008 World Championships, Poland, August 2008. From the 2009 season onwards, BIC Windsurf will be the sole supplier of both the board and rig for the Techno 293 OD class.
This is great news for the ongoing development of the Class. Having a One Design rig will greatly level the playing field at all Class competition meaning that the ability of the competitor, and not the equipment, is the determining factor in deciding races. One supplier for both the board & rig will ensure greater cost efficiency at all levels, meaning that new countries can get on board and further grow the Class worldwide.
